🔗 We asked Lisa some questions to learn more about her:
Introduce yourself! What’s your name, title, how long you’ve been with Phoenix Energy, and a brief description of your role.
My name is Lisa Edwards, and I’m the Administrative Support contact at Phoenix Energy’s Red Deer branch. I’ve been with Phoenix for nearly three years. In my role, I help ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the office while supporting our team in any way I can. I take pride in being a reliable resource for our team members and helping create an efficient, well-organized work environment.
What inspired you to join Phoenix Energy, and how has your journey with the company been so far?
I was drawn to Phoenix Energy because the Red Deer branch was still growing at the time, and I was excited about the opportunity to be part of that growth. Being able to contribute to building a strong, successful team was something that really motivated me. My journey so far has been very rewarding. I enjoy supporting the team behind the scenes and helping ensure everything runs smoothly so others can focus on their core responsibilities. We have a great group in Red Deer, and the support across Phoenix as a whole has been fantastic.
How do you stay motivated and continue to develop your skills in your position?
I stay motivated by continuously looking for opportunities to learn and expand my skill set. I enjoy stepping in to help across different areas such as billing, purchasing, shipping and receiving, and accounts receivable. There’s always something new to learn, and I value the opportunity to grow my knowledge and contribute more to the team.
What advice would you give to someone interested in pursuing a career in the energy industry?
I would say that being part of a supportive team and having opportunities for growth make this industry very rewarding. There are many different career paths to explore, and the ongoing support from both peers and leadership is invaluable. It’s also an industry that offers strong stability and long-term opportunities.
What are your favourite activities or hobbies outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, golfing, and playing slo-pitch.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people might not know?
A fun fact about me is that I played several musical instruments growing up, including the piano, clarinet, and drums.
